(107) The Commission may find that a third country, territory or specific sector in a third country, or international organization no longer provides an adequate degree of data protection. Consequently, transfers of personal data to that third country or international organization should be prohibited unless the requirements of this Regulation for transfers subject to appropriate safeguards, including binding corporate rules and exceptions for specific situations, are met. In such a case, provision should be made for consultations between the Commission and such third countries or international organizations. The Commission should immediately inform that third country or international organization of the reasons and enter into consultations with them to resolve the situation.
